V10 Mail Signature Package Generator
Prepare a signature package for Apple Mail from HTML file.
Everything stays on this Mac. Nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere.
Locate the V10 source files
- Open Finder.
- Choose Go → Go to Folder….
- Copy and paste the path below.
- Drag all the directory's files into Step 2.
Supply the existing Mail data
Drag all the files from Signatures folder here.
It should be exactly one AccountsMap.plist and one AllSignatures.plist. Other existing .mailsignature files are optional.
Drag the files here, or choose them from Finder.
Supply the new signature
The date and time will be added automatically.
Your HTML signature file
Drag one .html or .htm file here.
Review
Complete Steps 2 and 3 to review the package.

This creates a ZIP with the three new files, untouched backups, and instructions.
Install in Mail
- Keep the ZIP until the new signature has been verified.
- Fully quit Apple Mail.
- In Finder, use Go → Go to Folder… and open
~/Library/Mail/V10/MailData/Signatures. - Confirm the folder is under V10. Do not use this package with V11, V12, or another version.
- Copy all three files from
INSTALLinto the Signatures folder. Allow Finder to replace the two plist files. - Reopen Mail and verify the signature.
- To recover, fully quit Mail. Copy all files from
BACKUP-ORIGINALSinto the Signatures folder and allow Finder to replace the existing files. Then remove the generated.mailsignaturefile.
